Kung Fu is the term popularized in the West to refer to Chinese martial arts. In China they can also be called Wushu (art of war) or Kuoshu (national art). These are techniques developed, among other ways, from the observation of animals in nature and systematized with a view to combat. Currently, martial arts are practiced with the aim of developing not only self-defense, but also as a way to improve the quality of life through training the mind and body.
At the Lung Fu Kung Fu School we teach the Choy Lay Fut style (read: choi lí fá), it is one of the most efficient and popular styles of Kung Fu practiced today. The history of the creation and development of Choy Lay Fut goes back more than a century. Its moves are based on five animals: dragon, snake, tiger, panther and heron. The training involves Taolu/Kati techniques (forms) of hands and weapons, self-defense, combat, twists, projections, physical conditioning, breathing and work with the body's internal energy.
